We are a couple who share a passion for observing wildlife and exploring the tropical forests of different countries in Latin America.

We love spending time on the field with clients, friends, or anyone who is interested in learning more about bird behavior, nesting techniques, lekking, diet, flight patterns and bird photography.

MISSION

To create the best photography opportunities, and successful sightings for bird photographers and birdwatching enthusiasts alike, based on receptive and high service; ensuring a sense of safety throughout the whole experience while also working together with local communities and start up projects that facilitate our goals and care for the environment as much as we do.

VISION

To become a distinguished travel agency that organizes well planned and safe photography workshops, and personalized birding trips in Latin America. Becoming a reliable and efficient platform for our clients to search and customize birding trips whether it is just for observation or capturing winning award images in the tropical forest.

MEET OUR TEAM

Helmut Guth

Helmut Guth is a full time photographer and birdwatching guide, based in San José Costa Rica. Despite his name of German roots, Helmut is a born and raised Costa Rican who fell in love with nature and wildlife at a young age, and began birdwatching during his school years in Ecotourism. He continued to hone his skill in the birdwatching world ever since. He studied photography afterwards and now applies his knowledge into wildlife photography.

He is a certified guide in Spanish, English and German and now travels around Costa Rica, Colombia and Ecuador -with his wife Lina- looking for birds and wildlife to photograph with those who join him in our workshops and expeditions.

Helmut operates the tours, photography and route design.

Lina Cano

Lina is a Traveler, Marketing Strategist, Researcher and Designer.

With many years of professional experience, she arrived in Costa Rica where she met Helmut and the avian world. She quickly began learning and became more and more passionate about birds. She now looks for birds in Costa Rica and her native country Colombia.

With her curious mind, childish heart and thanks to the experience of the team, she and her husband founded a travel agency for bird lovers. Green Trogon is a perfect combination between regenerative tourism, marketing, birdwatching, and art.

Lina handles marketing, logistics and graphic design.
